Inspired by a true story, the musical tells how the Grammy Award-winning title band brought forgotten musicians back together to immortalize historic Cuban music genres. The group's sound incorporates son, bolero, and more — and now, the Buena Vista Social Club musical dives into the minds behind the melodies.

The story of how these musicians first met as young artists and reconvened decades later is set to BVSC's rich, lively, and stirring songs. Director Saheem Ali, book writer Marco Ramirez, and choreographers Justin Peck and Patricia Delgado make Buena Vista Social Club a full-scale, vibrant celebration of some of the most influential musicians from Cuba and the world.
