In 1991, after the fall of the Soviet Union, the new Russia belonged to its oligarchs — none more powerful than billionaire Boris Berezovsky (Stuhlbarg). He turns to a little-known deputy mayor named Vladimir Putin (Keen, reprising his London performance) when Russia needs a new president. But Putin’s ruthless rise threatens Berezovsky, who criticizes him and becomes a public enemy. Patriots captivatingly stages the epic confrontation between these two fatally flawed men.
Don’t miss this critically acclaimed, "monstrously entertaining" (London Theatre) production of a shockingly timely show, which won the 2023 Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Play in London ahead of this highly anticipated New York transfer.

Patriots - 3 Fun Facts
The hit show premiered at London's Almeida Theatre before going to London's West End and to Broadway. Patriots in New York is the same as that production. One of the U.K.’s most famous theatres, the Almeida has premiered recent hits including Tammy Faye (headed for Broadway soon) and A Streetcar Named Desire with Paul Mescal.
Another major character in Patriots is fellow Russian politician Roman Abramovich, played by Luke Thallon in London and New York. He allegedly has a good relationship with Putin, but he's publicly denied this.
Berezovsky spent time in exile. He publicly stated his mission to bring down Putin "by force" or by bloodless revolution. After making that threat, Berezovsky survived several alleged assassination attempts and received political refugee status in the U.K.
